As we are nearing to the end of the semester in my math 257 course, I feel that now is a good time to reflect on my experiences this semester. I will say this has been a very challenging class for me. Initially I under-estimated the level of difficulty, thinking that it would all be elementary level material and that I would not have any issues. This is not the case.
I learned that there is more to this course than just knowing how to solve and get an answer to a problem. A huge part in being successful in this subject is to understand HOW you got the answer. What methods did you use? How can you prove that answer? What was your thought process while working through the problem? Being able to answer questions of such sorts is key in being able to explain and teach the problem to a student.
Hi Korrine,
I can agree with you, I think this class was challenging. Last semester in MAT 256 was definitely completely different than this one. A big part is knowing how you got the answer instead of just solving it. Even though it sounds simple, there is more to it than it seems.
